 the edelweiss ->This frameset is designed to be a full-on loaded touring bicycle, the classic Wildebeest Migrator model. The owner, who rides a lot, and has even embraced carbon fiber for his fast road bike (not a Wildebeest, obviously), determined that his long distance needs required a strong but responsive chromoly steel frame and fork, clearance for racks and fenders, and a taller head tube for a more comfortable riding position.The owner is of Swiss heritage, and right proud of it, so the color scheme was chosen before anything else. And he also requested that an edelweiss make an appearance somewhere on the finished bike, hence the name. |
